The first leg of the round of 32 in the Copa del Rey was brought to a close on Friday with three vibrant matches in which the six teams sought to build a significant lead in the tie, but only Getafe did so convincingly.
In the match in the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, Getafe CF and SD Eibar provided a very tight first half. Lekić hit the post with a volley after a free-kick, and Fredy Hinestroza quickly responded with the best chance of the match. It was not until the second half when Getafe, with a brace from Sarabia and another from Álvaro Vázquez, took a giant stride towards the next round.
In the other 20:00 game, Albacete B. took the lead with a great goal from Moutinho. Levante UD dug deep and their hard work resulted in an equaliser from El Adoua meaning it is all to play for in the return game.
Seven goals were scored in the final game of the match, in which UD Almería built a substantial lead (0-4), although R. Betis refused to give up and Rubén Castro's introduction allowed the Verdiblancos to pull it back to 3-4, giving them plenty of chance in the return game in the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos.
