  • Club Independiente Santa Fe were founded in 1941 in the Colombian capital of Bogota, specifically at the historic Cafe del Rhin, which would serve as their unofficial headquarters in their early years.
  • Their home kit traditionally comprises a red shirt with white sleeves, red shorts and red-and-white socks. They are based at the Estadio Nemesio Camacho, popularly known as El Campin, which seats close to 40,000 people.
  • Eight-time Colombian champions, including boasting the honour of having won the first title, they have finished as runners-up on a further four occasions. They are also one of only three clubs to have been a permanent fixture in the country's top flight.
  • One of their all-time top scorers will be a familiar name to many LaLiga fans: former Atletico Madrid striker Adolfo Valencia, nicknamed El Tren [The Train]. He netted 78 times for the Bogota club, where he made his professional debut and had three stints overall.
  • Sevilla FC's upcoming opponents have featured in the LaLiga World programme before, having hosted RC Deportivo as part of the Galician club's LFP World Challenge tour in 2014. The Colombians ran out 1-0 winners.
