Joni Montiel (Rayo Vallecano)
The midfielder has only made five LaLiga appearances and is still cutting his teeth at this level, but this limited sample has been ample to showcase what the 17-year-old has to offer. Pacy and skilful, he made his first start against RCD Espanyol and the match against SD Eibar will be another opportunity to check on the development of this exciting talent.

Roque Mesa (UD Las Palmas)
The fulcrum in the Canary Islanders' engine room, he is at the heart of all of his team's moves. Oozing commitment and fighting spirit, he is a fixture in the Las Palmas line-up and never lets his standards drop. This weekend, however, he faces the challenge of delivering the goods against Real Madrid.

Casemiro (Real Madrid)
The anchorman has slowly but surely forced his way into Zinedine Zidane's plans and his impact has been plain to see. Sitting in front of the defence, it is his job to cover for the marauding full-backs and to lead the charge in breaking up opposition attacks. His work ethic is a vital component of this brief and he is always willing to offer his teammates a helping hand. His presence in the middle of the park frees up Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to focus on their key creative duties.

Fabian (Real Betis)
The young, talented academy graduate has the Benito Villamarin faithful buzzing. However, his fledgling credentials are in for a stern test this time round away to Athletic Club at San Mames. The silky left-footed playmaker has won over coach Juan Merino and established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet. Will he be able to make a similar mark in Bilbao?

Benoit Tremoulinas (Sevilla FC)
A highly attack-minded left-back who nevertheless more than fulfils the defensive requirements placed on him by Unai Emery. A complete player, he is enjoying a sensational second season in Seville, having taken his time to adapt after joining the club in the summer of 2014. As well as barely putting a foot wrong at the back, he has set up three goals in the league this campaign. With this weekend's opponents Villarreal CF strong down their right, it will be intriguing to see how the Frenchman fares on Liga BBVA Matchday 29.
