Dream weekend courtesy of LaLiga and PPTV

Ni hao, Dong Hon Wang and Yuan Yuan Lou! These two Chinese LaLiga fans touched down in Madrid on Friday, after jetting in from Shanghai to watch the derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid as special guests live in the stadium.

The excitement of the 10,254-kilometre journey between the two cities was just the tip of the iceberg for these two fans, who were in for a weekend of football and passion made possible thanks to LaLiga and PPTV, the official broadcaster of the competition in the Asian country. They were the winners of a hugely popular contest held back in November during one of the global events to broadcast #ElClasico, and their dream finally came true this weekend. They travelled to Madrid to get to know the city and watch a Liga BBVA match from the stands.

After spending the morning checking out the most iconic corners of the capital, taking a wander through the city centre and enjoying some tapas and Madrid’s fantastic weather, the two fans got to experience the unique atmosphere before a big game in the vicinity of the Santiago Bernabeu. They also explored the bowels of the stadium on the Real Madrid Tour, before heading to the VIP lounge to cheer on LaLiga’s stars in an exciting match which saw Atletico come out on top.

“Thanks to LaLiga and PPTV for making one of our dreams come true. It’s been an unforgettable experience,” said the winners during their stay in Madrid. They will never forget the events of the weekend and promised to carry on following the Liga BBVA week in, week out when they return to their native Shanghai.
