Dream comebacks from Sevilla and Valencia

The two Spanish teams both stamped their tickets to the semi-finals of the Europa League beating Porto 4-1 and Basel 5-0 after added time, respectively.

Sevilla FC and Valencia CF provided a stunning showcase of the Liga BBVA in European football once again. The two Spanish teams progressed to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League with impressive comebacks against FC Porto and FC Basel 1893, respectively.

The team from Seville, who lost their first-leg match 1-0 against the Portuguese outfit, won 4-1 this time around thanks to a memorable first half in which Rakitić, Vitolo and Bacca delighted the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán faithful with their three goals before the break. Gameiro wrapped things up when the clock read 79 to make it 4-0, although Porto managed a consolation goal through Quaresma at the end of the game.

For their part, Valencia also had a match to remember, beating Basel 5-0 after added time to overcame the 3-0 deficit from the first leg. After a sensational first half in which Alcácer and Vargas' goals allowed the ché to dream, Juan Antonio Pizzi's side forced extra time with another from Alcácer in the 70th minute. Alcácer, who had an outstanding game, also put the finishing touches on the comeback with a goal in the 114th minute and Juan Bernat rounded things off to make it 5-0 in the 118th minute.
