Granada CF beat Málaga CF by a single goal in the final match on Saturday on matchday 26 in the Liga BBVA, a result that will give them confidence in their bid to avoid relegation.
The 'nazarís' were the better side in the first half, creating many chances. The speed and incisiveness of their forwards helped the hosts overpower the Málaga defence and home in on Carlos Kameni’s goal. The Cameroonian goalkeeper was a major stumbling block for Abel Resino’s side, denying the hosts goals on several occasions.
Granada found the goal they craved at the start of the second half. In an effort to clear the ball, Málaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho sent the ball into his own goal in a play which decided the outcome of the game. Although Javi Gracia made changes in an attempt to turn the game around, the hosts took all three points and ended a hapless run of three defeats and a draw in their previous four matches.
