Local town Elgoibar, which is just 9km from the Ipurua stadium, is hosting the 23rd edition of the Cross Jose Gurrutxaga, a big sporting event that brings together more than 700 school children. It is organised by the town's Ikastola (a school where Basque is the main language), and aims to promote sporting activity among children and young people through 13 races. Anyone who wishes to participate in the adults' race will be able to sign up on Sunday at the Elgoibar town hall.
