FC Barcelona took a big step towards the Champions League semis as they downed Paris Saint-Germain 1-3 in the quarter finals. Luis Suárez scored twice for the visitors and was the star performer.
Barcelona started by creating some good chances, moving the ball with authority and taking control of possession. They did not take long to test out the opposition's goalkeeper as Leo Messi went close as he hit the post. Luis Enrique's men continued to press on and they eventually took the lead after 18 minutes as Messi found Neymar, who made it 0-1 with a great finish. Edinson Cavani went close for the hosts, but Marc-André ter Stegen was equal to his effort.
PSG looked to get back into the game after the break, but Barcelona were the more impressive side. They doubled their advantage on 67 minutes as Luis Suárez left defenders for dead before firing past Salvatore Sirigu. On 79 Suárez again found the back of the net to make it 0-3 with a perfect finish. The French side then pushed on, and a Gregory Van der Wiel effort was turned into his own goal by Jérémy Mathieu.
