Atletico Madrid Women will take centre stage for one of the most special moments of this summer's LFP World Challenge, as they will have the honour of kicking off LaLiga Women, a project that epitomises LaLiga's ongoing support for female football. The Rojiblancas will be heading off on tour to Sweden under the LFP World Challenge banner, with the aim of preparing for the upcoming season in the best possible fashion and furthering the internationalisation of the Women's First Division and LaLiga alike.

The Swedish cities of Linkoping and Eskilstuna have been chosen to stage the maiden edition of LaLiga Women. The Atletico Madrid ladies will take on Linkopings Fotboll Club on 7 August at 16:00 CET at the Linkoping Arena, before meeting Eskilstuna United DFF on 10 August at 19:00 CET.

Both games will be streamed live and absolutely free of charge on LaLiga's official YouTube channel.

This tour will see Atletico Madrid Women showcased through the LFP World Challenge, an initiative that seeks to raise the profile of Spanish clubs.

LaLiga men's clubs including SD Eibar, Real Sociedad and RCD Espanyol have already enjoyed taking part in this project in 2016, while others – namely Sevilla FC, Malaga CF and Real Betis – will variously be gracing the United States, Germany and Switzerland this pre-season under the LFP World Challenge umbrella.
