Athletic, on a good run, host Almería, who are in need of points

Athletic Club and UD Almería will face one another on matchday 28 of the Liga BBVA in a game where taking the three points is crucial for both sides, although both sides have different aims. The Andalusian side will aim to get back to winning ways after a winless streak of five games; the complete opposite of the Bilbao side who now have five successive victories. The Basque side, who go into the game full of confidence, will want to extend their good run of form against Juan Ignacio Martínez’ men, a team that will not make things easy for them.

Ernesto Valverde, the Athletic coach, will be Aritz Aduriz, who is injured, as well as Mikel San José, who is banned following his sending off in the previous game against RC Celta. On the other hand, Almería will be without Mauro Dos Santos who is banned, and José Manuel Jiménez 'Mané'. Juan Ignacio Martínez will have Ximo Navarro and Javier Espinosa back in his side.

Talking about the good run that his side are on, the Athletic manager stated that "It is a real opportunity to be able to notch up 5 wins in a row and then try to go for the sixth". On the other hand, the Almería coach stated that his team’s bad form should not stop them from getting a win: "We have to play at a very high level in order to try and scrape a good result because we need the points".
