Antoine Griezmann (21 March 1991, Macon, France) has claimed the Jugador Cinco Estrellas de la Aficion (Fans' Five-Star Player) accolade for the 2015/16 campaign, crowning the Atletico Madrid attacker as the most popular player in LaLiga Santander last season.
The French forward's goalscoring prowess and personality on the pitch have helped him win over not only the Atleti supporters, but LaLiga followers of all stripes, who enjoyed watching Griezmann work his magic over the course of all 38 matchdays last term. The 25-year-old well and truly wowed crowds with his efforts, finishing as his club's top scorer with 22 goals and pitching in with five assists to boot.
The Jugador Cinco Estrellas de la Aficion award was decided by the public through brewing brand and LaLiga sponsor Mahou's dedicated football page on Facebook, Mahou Futbol. Following the conclusion of the LaLiga Santander 2015/16 campaign on 19 May 2016, a gallery was posted featuring photos of each and every player from the 20 squads in the division. Griezmann captures the prize on account of his picture having garnered the most 'Likes' up to 31 May 2016.
