Paco Alcacer is enjoying a goal glut. The striker from Torrent, on the outskirts of Valencia, has netted four times in his last two appearances and generally speaking has delivered the goods whenever they've been needed this term. From first-time potshots to headers, from right-footers to left-footers, he scores all sorts and has the knack of being in the right place at the right time.

The Valencia CF academy graduate is now on 13 Liga BBVA goals for the season and has really hit his stride lately. But beyond his current hot streak, his all-round contribution also deserves to be mentioned. In addition to banging them in, the Los Che number 9 excels at setting them up. His hold-up play is first-class and he is always willing to put the team before the pursuit of individual glory, as shown by the six assists he has served up.

These stats make Alcacer not just his side's leading goalscorer, but their top assist-maker too. With three more games in which to keep making an impact, the Valencia icon and fan favourite has a challenge ahead of him. On the one hand, he has his sights set on overhauling 17-goal Aritz Aduriz, Ruben Castro and Borja Baston to end the campaign as the highest-scoring Spaniard in the division. On the other, he is looking to press his claim for a place in Spain's EURO 2016 squad in the process.
