Wide open start
Real Madrid went out with the intention of putting pressure up front, while Barcelona tried to take control of possession. Neymar, taking responsibility from the first minute, endangered Keylor Navas’ goal, although his shot went over the crossbar. Ronaldo, the most incisive player, stroke from a difficult position and Claudio Bravo saved outstandingly.
Decisive Suarez
Real Madrid didn’t manage to throw themselves into the game, but they endeavoured to block Barcelona’s first move. A good combination between Sergi Roberto and Luis Suarez ended up with the Uruguayan striker scoring the first goal for his team. The Barcelona ‘9’ executed a perfect touch with his outer foot.
Possession
Barcelona, ahead on the scoreboard, grew in the match through good combinations. Iniesta, very comfortable in the development of the game, caused the home defence many problems due to some good plays with Sergi Roberto, Rakitic, Neymar and Suarez.
Vertical play
Rafa Benitez’s men couldn’t get comfortable in the clash. Modric and Kroos attempted to connect with the attacking players with fast and vertical plays, but the chances were lacking. James tried to connect with the strikers, but the away defence wasn’t letting him.
Neymar’s runs
The Brazilian footballer showed all his skills at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. Dribbling, runs and one on one, dismantling the local right wing´s defence. His excellent shape and effectiveness gave the Catalans the opportunity of extending their lead and confirming the incredible first half he was having.

Iniesta’s precision
Iniesta scored one of the best goals in the recent Clasicos. After a beautiful combination, and a brilliant back pass by Neymar, the Spanish midfielder finished the play with a strong shot through the top left corner without giving Navas a chance.
Messi’s return
The Argentinian returned to a football pitch after his injury on the 26th of September. With 0-3 on the scoreboard, he tried to get into the rhythm of the game and to take advantage of the spaces Real Madrid was leaving.
Suarez strikes a second time
During the final minutes of the match and Real Madrid fully attacking, Suarez sealed Barcelona’s great night by scoring the 0-4 and sentencing the Madrid team’s slightest chances to react.
