The Guipuzcoa derby will be played on matchday 20 of the Liga BBVA. Anoeta welcomes an eighth-placed SD Eibar side that will be making the most of their strong streak of form in the Liga BBVA to claim all three points. Meanwhile, following their defeat at the hands of Rayo Vallecano, Real Sociedad will need to be careful in order to avoid getting embroiled in the relegation battle.
Team news
Raúl Navas and Federico Piovaccari are unavailable for Eibar due to injury, while Raúl Albentosa, who confirmed his decision to leave the club, will not be featuring for the visitors either. There are also question marks hanging over Borja Ekiza who has picked up a neck injury. The home team will be looking to make their supporters happy with a full squad of players. The only doubts are Carlos Martínez, with a groin injury, and Markel Bergara, with a sprain.
Views from the dugouts
Eibar manager Gaizka Garitano travels to Anoeta to take on an opponent he views as the favourite: "Real Sociedad are always going to be clear favourites against Eibar". However, he is still full of hope: "This team doesn’t dwell of its difficulties".
The only thing on David Moyes’s mind is winning the derby and getting his team back on track: "This is an important game because it involves two sides from the same area. They are doing well. They’re having a good season, similar to the last two years. This is an important game because we dropped three points in the last match".
