At. Osasuna - R. Zaragoza (El Sadar, 12 pm)
A clash between two traditional Liga BBVA names separated by four points, who are looking not to lose ground on the play-off positions. For Zaragoza coach Ranko Popović, it’s no run-of-the-mill game: "It’s going to be a match with a difference, which we’re looking forward to and bang up for as we make our preparations; a match with a difference because of the proximity and the rivalry between two teams who have almost always met in the Liga BBVA, and that should be a motivation for us".
RC Recreativo - D. Alavés (Estadio Nuevo Colombino, 5 pm)
The bad run Recreativo are on – nine matchdays without a win – has left them in the relegation zone, and coach José Luis Oltra discussed the delicate period his team are currently experiencing: "When you’ve gone so long without a win, you’re closer to winning again; but in truth it’s always 50-50. We’re playing at home, something we haven’t been doing regularly. The fans are being very understanding and they’re helping us a lot". Facing them are Alavés, who occupy a comfortable mid-table position with 27 points.
Girona FC - AD Alcorcón (Estadio Municipal de Montilivi, 5 pm)
Two teams on opposing runs go head to head at Montilivi. A Girona side on 41 points and one victory off the Liga Adelante leaders come up against Alcorcón, an outfit enjoying an outstanding season under Pepe Bordalás but currently going through a poor run of results, having failed to win in their last five outings. "They’re a team we have to look to mirror, they’re humble and do things really well", said Pablo Machín, coach of the Catalan team.
R Valladolid CF - CD Lugo (Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla, 6:15 pm)
Victory after victory, Valladolid are proving full value for their position in the upper reaches of the table. To add another three points, they’ll have to beat a Lugo team in need of a win. Joan Francesc Ferrer 'Rubi', coach of los pucelanos, had words of praise for his side’s opponents: "Lugo are one of the best at playing the ball out from the back and they make the most passes in the whole division. I don’t think they’ll change their style of play, so it’ll be a very attractive game for the spectator. I’m not taking anything for granted, because if we let them get a stranglehold on the game they’re capable of giving us an uncomfortable 90 minutes".
