Liga BBVA matchday 18 provided a draw between Granada CF and Real Sociedad
who prevented the Andalusians from recording a victory after three and a
half months without.
The Andalusians were clearly anxious to score in the first half but they
lacked creativity. Real, who were somewhat more incisive, enjoyed a couple
of clear chances, but the goal eventually came from the boots of Carlos Vela
with a spot-kick after 36 minutes.
Although the side from Donostia came out in the second half intent on
standing strong at the back to defend their lead, the addition of Nyom and
Success led to a livelier Granada strikeforce. The home goal also came from
a penalty, converted by Fran Rico to earn a valuable point for Joaquín
Caparrós' men.
