Almería at their best at La Rosaleda

Málaga and Almería put on a show to close Saturday's Liga BBVA action, and it was the visiting side who took all three points with a 1-2 win that sees them climb to mid-table.

 

The Rosaleda hosted the first Andalusian derby in Liga BBVA of 2015. Málaga came out of the blocks stronger, and it was only Julián's heroics in the visiting goal that kept them at bay. Almería were then able to take advantage of one of their few opportunities, with Tomer Hemed getting on the end of a Verza free-kick to put the visitors ahead.

 

After the break Málaga drew level through Samu García, however the home side's joy was short lived as Hemed found the net from the penalty spot to put Juan Ignacio Martínez's side ahead again. The final result means that Málaga's winning run comes to an end while Almería continue to enjoy success in the JIM era.
