Joan Garcia, LALIGA EA SPORTS Best Save of the Month in August

Joan Garcia has received the LALIGA EA SPORTS Best Save of the Month award in August. The Barça goalkeeper was the key player for Hansi Flick's side against Rayo Vallecano, making several decisive saves that kept the Catalans afloat in the 1-1 draw.

With the score still 0-0, Joan made the first of his five stellar saves in the game. The Barça goalkeeper dived to block a point-blank shot from Ratiu, preventing Rayo Vallecano from scoring and keeping the score at 0-0. This save has been voted the best of the month at the start of the season. After that, Lamine Yamal put FC Barcelona ahead from the penalty spot and in the second half Fran Pérez sealed the draw for the home side. Joan Garcia, MVP of the match, prevented the result from being more emphatic for the home side.

This is not the first time that the Barcelona number 13 has won this award, having done so twice last season with RCD Espanyol. This is the first time he has won it with Barça. His save from Ratiu received the most votes in August, ahead of Nyland's save for Sevilla and Pablo Campos' save from Raphinha.
