- Club Deportivo Castellon were founded on 20 July 1922, although football was already part of the city of Castellon going back to the start of the 20th century, with SD Cervantes CF the club's predecessor.
- Players of the calibre of Vicente Del Bosque, Cela and Planelles have featured for Castellon over the years and played a crucial role in the club's history.
- The newly promoted side plays their home games at the Nou Estadi Castalia, which has a capacity of 16,000 and was inaugurated on 17 June 1987.
- The fans are the heartbeat of Castellon, which rank among the 25 clubs with the most season-ticket holders in the entire country. The team and supporters alike are known as Orelluts.
- Castellon last competed in LaLiga SmartBank ten years ago, in the 2009/10 campaign.
