LALIGA has appointed Disney+ and DAZN as its new broadcast partners in France under separate three-season agreements running through the end of the 2028/29 campaign, strengthening the competition's presence in one of its most important international markets.
With the 2026/27 season kicking off on August 15, French fans will be able to enjoy comprehensive live coverage from the very first matchday, both DAZN and Disney+ will broadcast 10 matches per matchday, ensuring all 380 matches of the LALIGA EA SPORTS season are available to fans across the country. The deal covers the 2026/27, 2027/28 and 2028/29 seasons.
The agreements combine DAZN's position as a leading sports streaming platform with Disney+'s broad entertainment reach and the strength of ESPN, helping LALIGA reach an even wider audience across one of Europe’s most important football markets.
Each week, French fans will be able to follow every LALIGA EA SPORTS club, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Atlético de Madrid, Athletic Club, Sevilla FC and Valencia CF, among others. The competition is home to many of France’s biggest stars, with Kylian Mbappé, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga at Real Madrid, Jules Koundé at FC Barcelona and several other French stars such as Sevilla FC’s Lucien Agoumé and Levante UD’s Enzo Bardeli lighting up LALIGA week after week. Fans will also enjoy iconic fixtures such as ELCLÁSICO, alongside the race for the title, European qualification and relegation.
"French fans have always had a special connection with LALIGA and our competition's biggest stars. These agreements with Disney+ and DAZN mean fans across France will have easier access than ever to their favourite players, clubs and rivalries every week. We are delighted to begin this new chapter with two outstanding partners who share our ambition to deliver the best possible experience for football fans”, said Javier Tebas, president of LALIGA.
Brice Daumin, CEO of DAZN France, said: "LALIGA is one of the world's most prestigious football competitions and we are proud to extend our partnership with the league to France. Together with the Ligue 1+ service, Serie A and our other international competitions, we now offer football fans in France one of the most comprehensive football packages on the market."
Karl Holmes, General Manager, Disney+ EMEA, said: "We're excited to bring LALIGA to all Disney+ France customers in a fresh new way. LALIGA has a strong connection with football fans in France, with many French players making their mark in Spain alongside iconic clubs and unforgettable rivalries, making it a great addition. We can't wait for our customers to enjoy coverage that feels exciting, different and made for football fans today."
Diego Londono, Senior Vice President & General Manager, Networks & Sports, The Walt Disney Company EMEA, said: "As ESPN on Disney+ continues to expand across Europe, bringing LALIGA to customers in France marks another important milestone. Building on our long-standing relationship with LALIGA, this agreement brings one of the world's leading football competitions to even more fans. With its world-renowned clubs, exceptional talent and football played at the very highest level, LALIGA further strengthens our growing live sports offering on Disney+.”
The new agreements build on LALIGA's strong and longstanding relationships with both partners. DAZN already broadcasts LALIGA EA SPORTS in the DACH region, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Japan and Belgium, while The Walt Disney Company carries the competition in the United Kingdom, the United States, the Nordics, and other international markets. Extending these partnerships to France — one of Europe's leading football markets — reflects both broadcasters’ continued confidence in LALIGA and further strengthens the competition’s global reach.
World Cup stars set to return to LALIGA EA SPORTS
The agreements come at a moment of strong international momentum for LALIGA EA SPORTS. The Spanish national team recently won the nation’s second FIFA World Cup title with a squad featuring 17 players who played in LALIGA during the 2025/26 season, while two more world champions are set to join the league ahead of the new campaign.
LALIGA was also the best-represented league in the final against Argentina, with 24 of the 52 players across both squads, while its players also claimed several individual honours: Athletic Club's Unai Simón won the Golden Glove, FC Barcelona's Pau Cubarsí was named Young Player of the Tournament and Real Sociedad's Mikel Oyarzabal finished as Spain's top scorer.
For French fans, the new partnerships are an unmissable chance to follow the tournament’s standout performers week after week, among them Golden Boot winner Kylian Mbappé, who scored 10 goals for France at the World Cup, and several other French internationals who play in Spain's top division.
