The competitiveness that has characterised the Liga Adelante all season was on display once more in the first leg of the tie between Córdoba CF and Real Murcia CF. It was a match that ended 0-0 and whose winner will be decided on 15 June in the Nueva Condomina.

After a few minutes of cagey football, it was the visitors who began to dominate and produce danger in front of Juan Carlos’ goal. Saúl Berjón had the first chance after 10 minutes, but his shot was wide of the mark. Córdoba, feeling threatened in their own ground, gradually settled and, after two consecutive efforts from Luso and Pedro they took control of the match. But Murcia, a side known for solid defending,  kept their focus.

The second half got underway with more intensity and passion. When the clock read 59, Francisco Molinero prevented Córdoba from scoring as he cleared a powerful Arturo free-kick off the line after it had struck the defender’s chest. As they had in the first half, the Andalusian side took the initiative in attack once more, searching for a goal with rapid attacks, hoping to catch Murcia off-guard. In the dying breaths Xisco roused the crown as his shot struck Casto’s post at the end of the match.
