LaLiga will put the finishing touch to the 2014/15 season in #PremiosLaLiga Gala, a ceremony to be held on November 30 in Barcelona and that will be broadcasted in more than 130 countries.
In this edition, LaLiga will pay tribute to the best of last season with a total of 14 awards, divided into the following nine categories:
Liga BBVA categories
- Best Goalkeeper
- Best Defender
- Best Midfielder
- Best Forward
- Best Coach
- Best Player
- Best American Player
- Best African Player
- Fans' Five-Star Player
Liga Adelante categories
- Best Goalkeeper
- Best Defender
- Best Midfielder
- Best Forward
- Best Coach
The three captains of each team voted the best player of each line and 'Best Coach' of the relevant category. In this selection could not be included players or the coach of their own team.
The awards for 'Best American Player' and 'Best African Player' have been popularly elected through www.laliga.es and Flowics platform (Best African and American). Users of LaLiga's official website could vote for the most complete player on both continents with a simple click on the website after viewing a video with their best actions of the year. Voting opened on November 3 and were closed on November 27 at 23:59 CET.
The award for 'Best Player' has been designated according to the technical data provided by MediaCoach, a video analysis tool developed by Mediapro and LaLiga which analyzes the players from the 20 clubs of Liga BBVA. This latest generation system aims to improve the team performance with game analysis, players’ analysis, and the obtaining of comprehensive statistics. In addition, MediaCoach allows analysis of the game in real time and data extraction of all the matches played on each Liga BBVA matchday.
The award for 'Fans' Five-Star Player' was also chosen popularly by Mahou.es users that could vote on every matchday of last Liga BBVA for their favorite player. For doing this, they had five stars (amounting five votes a week) that could be given to one player or divide them up among several players of all Liga BBVA clubs.
