Rotation reaps rewards
Unai Emery's decision to tinker came off again. There were some five changes to the Sevilla FC line-up that faced Barcelona, but the team didn't lose an ounce of their usual competitiveness. Mariano, Daniel Carriço, Jose Antonio Reyes, Ever Banega and Llorente were all introduced and it was the striker who proved decisive.
Llorente ends league drought
The big target man had not hit the back of the net in LaLiga for quite some time. To be specific, not since Sevilla's Matchday 11 win over Real Madrid. That drought ended against SD Eibar, as he opened the scoring following some great close control in the area. He now has four league goals to his name this term.

Eibar's never-say-die attitude
The Basque visitors kept going and knocking on the door right up to the end but, despite putting Sevilla under the cosh, they were unable to convert any of their chances. Gonzalo Escalante had a glorious opportunity but was denied by goalkeeper Sergio Rico, while Borja Baston also came close to drawing his side level. It was not to be, though, so it ended 1-0 and Jose Luis Mendilibar's men were left ruing their sixth loss in their last seven matches.
Sevilla make history at Sanchez-Pizjuan
The Andalusians hadn't chalked up 12 home victories in a row in LaLiga since 1957. Emery's charges lost their first two league matches of the season at the Sanchez-Pizjuan, to Atletico Madrid and RC Celta, but have won every single one since. This latest triumph, coupled with Celta's draw away to Villarreal, sees Sevilla vault above Eduardo Berizzo's side into fifth place in the Liga BBVA table, with 44 points.
