Sevilla (7th, 48 pts):
- The Andalusians head into this one in high spirits after advancing to the Europa League semi-finals, in which they will continue their title defence against Shakhtar Donetsk. This European tonic will have provided a welcome boost after three league reverses in a row.
- Unai Emery's men will be bidding to restore the fortress factor to the Sanchez-Pizjuan, where they have only lost three times domestically this term in spite of their recent poor form.
Deportivo (12th, 37 pts):
- The team from A Coruña took the lead at home to UD Las Palmas last Monday, but found themselves on the receiving end of a storming comeback by the Canary Islanders, who eventually ran out 3-1 winners.
- Lucas Perez was on the scoresheet in that game, chalking up his 16th goal of the campaign in the Liga BBVA. Notwithstanding the defeat, Deportivo coach Victor will be delighted to have the striker back on top form.
