Thirteen seasons later, Real Oviedo fans can enjoy again with their team in LaLiga. And the team led by Sergio Egea has started at full throttle the campaign.
After 11 matchdays, the "Carbayones" are eighth on the table with 16 points, with a record of four victories, four draws y three defeats. A comfortable situation that is best understood with one fact: of the four teams promoted, is the highest ranked at this point.
Oviedo's fans scattered around the world are vibrating with the good progress of the team, as is the case of the Mexican 'Peña Real Oviedo MX'. This supporters club, founded in 2013, brings together more than 130 club fans at matches contesting the Asturian club.
Jose Antonio Palacio Junco, president of the Peña, talks about the experience: "We are composed mainly of Mexican and Spanish, as many belong to the Asturian Center of Mexico or have Asturian origin."
They all enjoyed greatly when, last June, the return of Real Oviedo to LaLiga was confirmed: "We lived very closely the promotion to Liga Adelante. We made a big party, with "bollos preñados" and Asturian cider to celebrate. You can imagine the great atmosphere we had".
Furthermore, José Antonio tells us about the dream which has given to many of them the chance to visit the Carlos Tartiere Stadium: "Every one for himself itself has been there, many of us are children of Asturians and when we go there we take the opportunity to go to see the home games. As a "Peña", we want to organize ourselves to go to Liga BBVA´s promotion ".
