Team News:

- UD Las Palmas: Javi Castellano (injured)

- R. Sporting: Bernardo, Alex Menendez and Roberto Canella (all injured); Nacho Cases (suspended)

Match Facts:

Las Palmas (10th, 39 pts):

- A sensational run of six wins from seven games has left the Canary Islanders sitting pretty, 11 points above the relegation zone, meaning that they have all but secured their place in next term's Liga BBVA with half a dozen matchdays to go.

- Quique Setien's men have conceded a mere four goals in these seven matches, which is a testament to their defensive solidity in recent months.

- In spite of their dazzling form as of late, Las Palmas have lost two of their last four home fixtures, a fact that will give Sporting hope that they can get a result at the Estadio Gran Canaria.

Sporting (18th, 28 pts):

- The Asturians have only mustered a solitary victory from their last 11 Liga BBVA games and are mired in the drop zone, two points from safety.

- The last time Sporting scored on the road was way back on 20 February, since when they have gone three away matches without finding the net.

- In spite of this lack of goals on their travels, Abelardo's charges have picked up at least a point from three of their last five away days.

What's on in Las Palmas this weekend?

On 15, 16 and 17 April, the Miller Building at Las Palmas's Santa Catalina Park is staging the second edition of LPA Motown, the Motorbike and Urban Mobility Fair. As well as offering the chance to check out the latest technology and developments in the industry, the event will feature activities for visitors of all ages, including a go-kart circuit, a Mapfre-sponsored road safety circuit for kids, plus show areas for trials bikes, quads and standard bicycles. It's an ideal option for a family outing this weekend.
