LFP Security Committee Meeting

The Liga de Fútbol Profesional continues to take forward steps in its fight to combat violence in football. Proof of such is the creation of a LFP Security Committee, which will see La Liga’s Director of Security meet with his counterparts from Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante clubs to secure better coordination between all parties. 

On Tuesday morning the first meeting took place, where Integrity Director, Manuel Quintanar, presented Alfredo Lorenzo to the attendees. “The objective is ambitious: the definitive eradication of violence in football. The principal idea is zero tolerance and La Liga are behind this project one hundred per-cent”, said Lorenzo. The La Liga Director of Security listed the actions not only from his department, “also from the LFP Directors such as the Communications, Legal and Infrastructure Departments”.

Alfredo Lorenzo confirmed that the principal task of his position would be “that the entire Liga entity has common criteria with relation to security and prevention of violence, in addition to reinforcing the institutional relationship with the Security Bodies, the Real Federación Española de Fútbol and the Superior Sports Council". 

In addition to being informed of the work that the Director of Security will undertake, the attendees got to know first hand the tasks of both the match directors and the intelligence unit created by the LFP and the Control and Supervision Commission.

Alfredo Lorenzo continued "La Liga is assumes its social responsibility because football is a mirror, especially for young people. We are confident that by the start of next season all of the actions of the strategic plans will be implemented across all stadiums”.
