LaLiga reach an agreement with the Pro League Committee, the United Arab Emirates' professional football league

In Dubai, Fernando Sanz signed the agreement of collaboration that will "strengthen the ties between two countries that share the same passion: football".

At the headquarters of the UAE's Football Association, Mr.Suhail Al Areefi, CEO of the PLC and Fernando Sanz, head of LaLiga in the Middle East and North Africa, were charged with presenting the three year agreement. In the agreement friendly matches and youth tournaments between both leagues stand out, in addition to the organisation of conferences and joint working workshops. It also includes the development of a programme for coaches and the collaboration in order that the clubs of the PLC learn the different management models and tools of the schools of LaLiga clubs.

"We are very proud of this agreement, which allows us to strengthen the ties between to countries that share the same passion: football. I want to emphasise that this agreement is very important for us and shows that we are committed to the region, where LaLiga opened its first office outside of Spain two years ago".

Fernando Sanz was the only representative of a Western organisation who was president in the box at the Hazza Bin Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi. LaLiga's director in the Middle East and North of Africa, Fernando Sanz watched the President Cup final of the United Arab Emirates between Al Nasr and Al Ahli.

By an express invitation from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Fernando Sanz shared the box with the General Secretary of the, H.E. Aref Al Awani, and the CEO of the Pro League Committee, Mr.Suhail Al Areefi, amongst other local figures of authority.

The President Cup, in which professional clubs from all over the United Arab Emirates participate, was in its 39th edition this season. Al Nasr won the trophy after beating Al Ahli on penalties.
