LALIGA, through its educational department LALIGA BUSINESS SCHOOL, hosted the final session of the 3rd edition of the ‘ATP & LALIGA Business Education Programme’ at its headquarters. This educational program, developed in partnership with the ATP, aims to introduce professional tennis players to the operations and management dynamics of the sports industry.

With a total duration of 23 hours distributed between March and April, the program combined in-person sessions in Miami and Madrid with streaming sessions, offering flexible training tailored to the ATP Tour’s competitive schedule. By blending in-person and online sessions, this program demonstrates LALIGA and ATP’s dedication to providing flexible, high-quality education that adapts to the demanding schedules of professional athletes.

During the session held at LALIGA’s headquarters, participants delved into topics related to the new era of sports marketing, guided by leading organizations such as Nike, Formula 1, SPSG Consulting, and LALIGA. This final phase concluded a journey that began in March in Miami, where leadership in the sports industry and event management were addressed. It continued with an online phase focusing on the application of artificial intelligence, sustainability, and digital strategy in sports.

The program, which connects key disciplines through expert speakers and high-value practical cases, featured the participation of tennis players including Paula Badosa, Zizou Bergs, Rohan Bopanna, Radu Albot, Henry Patten, Evan King, Ulrikke Eikeri, Timea Babos, Jaume Munar, James Duckworth, Tristan Boyer, Constantin Frantzen, Magda Linette, Carlos Taberner, Mikhail Kukushkin, Marco Trungelliti, Sem Verbeek, Nadiia Kichenok, Joe Salisbury, Brandon Nakashima, Hendrik Jebens, and Andre Goransson. They shared concerns and interests with the goal of exploring future career paths in the sports world from a global and innovative perspective.

The ATP values the importance of these types of initiatives. According to Fernando Sánchez, Senior VP of Player Relations: "The ATP, in general, and the Player Department in particular, have a very clear strategy for our member players: to enhance their experience on Tour both on and off the court while they are still competing, and to increase the opportunities we offer them to be as prepared as possible for professional life once they decide to end their career. This program, along with others like the ATP Player Mentoring Programme, which we will begin the second edition of in June, fully aligns with this strategy."

José Moya, Director of LALIGA BUSINESS SCHOOL, added: “It’s a privilege to continue promoting this initiative with a strategic partner like the ATP. Programs like this allow athletes to access essential knowledge about the industry in which they pursue their careers and represent another step in our commitment to their education and professional development beyond the court. The success of this third edition reinforces our intention to continue building bridges between sports and education from an international and multidisciplinary perspective.

The ATP & LALIGA Business Education Programme stands as a pioneering initiative, designed to introduce athletes to the complexities of managing an increasingly demanding and globalized industry. Backed by leading institutions, it embodies a strong commitment to talent development, both on and off the field.
