FOX Sports, Sportklub and beIN SPORTS viewers amazed by the LaLiga Santander Experience in Madrid

Atletico Madrid’s stirring 3-1 victory over Sevilla FC was the culmination of a packed weekend of activities for 10 lucky competition winners and journalists from official LaLiga broadcasters FOX Sports Italy, Sportklub in the Balkans and beIN SPORTS Australia.

Six subscribers from Australia, Italy and Serbia had won contests set by the official LaLiga broadcasters in their respective countries, which included writing articles, introducing friends on social media and even guest-commentating a section of a game.

Their reward was a trip to the Spanish capital see LaLiga Santander’s Matchday 28 at the Vicente Calderon between Atletico and Sevilla. The clash between the teams lying fourth and third in the standings respectively was one of the outstanding fixtures of the weekend, with both clubs chasing the league title and places in Europe for next season.

The build-up began with a stadium tour around the Calderon, visiting the trophy room and museum, the news conference room, the dressing rooms and going out through the tunnel onto the side of the pitch. Later, the guests and journalists were given a guided tour around the city to see the main tourist sites.

The excitement levels rose at an official meeting between Atletico and Sevilla supporters’ clubs organised with the help of Aficiones Unidas (Fans United), an organisation that seeks to promote cordial relations between official fans groups. The countdown to the match saw the invitees go down to the side of the pitch as the players warmed up before kickoff and then they took their seats for a game which exhibited all the traits that make Spanish football so special: a passionate crowd, quality football and goals under a glorious blue sky!

Just when the group thought things could not improve, they were whisked down to the side of the pitch to catch the players as they exited the stadium. Atletico stars Antoine Griezmann, Fernando Torres, Diego Godin and Diego Simeone were the among the personalities who stopped to sign shirts and have their photos taken with the guests, crowning another spectacular weekend of football with the LaLiga Santander Experience.
