Evan Dimas watched RCD Espanyol's Under-19s (Juvenil A) train yesterday and was able to see for himself just how much quality the budding youngsters have. The Juvenil A side sealed the league title last weekend, crowning a campaign in which they have shown a combination of great ability and team spirit in order to stay at the top of the table.
Making the most of his visit, Dimas had a chat with Jordi Lardin, a former Espanyol player who now serves as the club's youth director. He also had the chance to exchange views with Juvenil A coach David Gallego and another Espanyol alumnus, Angel Morales, who is currently in charge of the administrative side of the youth set-up. All three highlighted the quality and success of the club's youth ranks, at every age group.
The Indonesian player concluded his visit by encouraging the youngsters to keep working hard and wishing them the best of luck in the future.
Dimas is the first player selected to take part in the LaLiga Global project, which promotes activities to develop LaLiga's international brand, including supporting stand-out local footballers from various different countries by giving them an opportunity to hone their skills in the best possible environment.
Through this project, LaLiga is aiming to support the development of young talents in several countries throughout the world, while placing special emphasis on future gems. Dimas is the first of many players who will participate and visit different major clubs in Spain to get to know their working methods.
