Eibar and Deportivo out to steer clear of dogfight

Revelations earlier in the season, when they both occupied European spots, the two teams have struggled in the second half of the campaign. They are now looking to regain their former form and finish as high up as possible.

Team News:

SD Eibar: Jaime and Antonio Luna (both injured); Dani Garcia (suspended).

RC Deportivo: Fabricio, Luis Alberto and German Lux (all injured).

Match Facts:

Eibar (11th, 41 pts):

- The Basques have only managed one win in their last five Liga BBVA matches. They will be hoping to kick-start a late surge this weekend in front of their own fans, and in the process to move back in front of Real Sociedad and Malaga CF.

- "In the next five games we're going to compete and we won't take our eye off the ball. We want to stay up where we are. On an individual level, all the players will be looking to end the season on a high. We all still have plenty to play for," insisted Eibar coach Jose Luis Mendilibar ahead of his side's midweek meeting with Valencia CF, making it clear that he would not countenance his squad switching off despite safety being close to assured.

Deportivo (14th, 38 pts):

- The Galicians will be determined to turn the page on their 8-0 drubbing by FC Barcelona at Riazor as soon as possible. They are seeking a first away victory since November and are intent on finding their spark again.

- Deportivo have won all of their Liga BBVA meetings with Eibar and manager Victor will be desperate to continue that record this matchday to avoid his team getting dragged into the relegation picture in the final weeks of the campaign.

What's on in Eibar this weekend?

Visit the villages of the Gipuzkoan coast. These include Getaria, Orio, Zarautz, Aia and Zumaia. Enjoy the five locations and choose the one that fills you. It may be Zumaia, with its two museums and two beaches. Perhaps Getaria, birthplace of the sailor Elkano, and couturier Balenciaga, with its charming harbor and the "mouse of Getaria". Surely it is Zarautz, the great Guipuzcoa tourist town with the longest beach of the area and lots to see. Or is it Orio, with its steep streets.
