SD Eibar and Málaga CF met on Liga BBVA matchday 30 in a clash that finished 1-0 to the hosts courtesy of Mikel Arruabarrena's goal. The win sees the Basque outfit bring an end to a poor run of eleven league games without picking up all three points.
Neither side proved capable of taking charge of the match in the opening 45, and chances on goal were in short supply. In the 16th minute, Málaga's clearest opportunity arrived through a strike from José 'Recio' from outside of the area. Shortly before half time, visiting keeper Carlos Kameni stopped a Javi Lara free-kick to prevent Eibar from making it 1-0.
Five minutes after the restart Eibar took the lead through Arruabarrena, the forward heading in at the far post from Javi Lara's corner delivery. Recio then followed on from his first-half effort by trying his luck with a long-range right-foot shot that was just off target. In the end, the three points remained at Ipurua and Eibar move to 31 points – six above the relegation places – while Málaga sit seventh on 45.
