LALIGA strengthens Nordic broadcasting strategy with Disney+ and TV2

LALIGA is strengthening its presence across the Nordic region with a new four-season broadcasting agreement with Disney+ in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, alongside the renewal of its partnership with TV2 in Norway through the summer of 2030.

 

From the 2026/27 season, ESPN on Disney+ will become the new home of LALIGA in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland, with all 380 matches per season available live, in addition to comprehensive coverage of the competition. The agreement also includes the Copa del Rey and marks a significant milestone for LALIGA in the Nordics, bringing Spanish football to one of the world’s leading streaming platforms.

 

The collaboration will help LALIGA reach broader and younger audiences across Northern Europe, while further supporting Disney+’s expanding football offering in Europe. It also builds on the established relationship between LALIGA and ESPN in other major international markets. In the United States, ESPN and LALIGA have a long-term agreement in place through the 2028/29 season, while in the UK and Ireland Disney+ already forms part of LALIGA’s broadcast distribution model.

 

In Norway, TV2 will continue as the home of LALIGA, extending a partnership that has been in place since the 2021/22 season. The renewal underlines the importance of continuity, local expertise and broadcaster commitment in a market where TV2 has helped strengthen engagement with Spanish football among Norwegian fans.

 

Together, the agreements reflect LALIGA’s regional strategy in Northern Europe: combining expansion through a major new distribution partner in four markets with the continuity of a proven local broadcaster in Norway.
