Villarreal CF and Córdoba CF face off on matchday 32 of the Liga BBVA in a game where only a win will suffice for both sides. The Castellón side and Cordoba have both had a number of consecutive games without a win and they will be aiming to get back to winning ways. Villarreal want to consolidate their place in the UEFA Europa League, while José Antonio Romero’s men will be looking to keep their hopes alive of remaining in the top division of Spanish football.
Squads
Marcelino has Luciano Vietto back for the game, he missed the match against Getafe CF last week due to injury discomfort. Mateo Musacchio, José Antonio Dorado, Bruno Soriano and Adrián Marín will miss the game due to injury. On the other hand, the Córdoba manager will be without Daniel Pinillos and Borja García, who are both banned. Aleksandar Pantić, who is on loan at Córdoba from Villarreal will also be unavailable for the game.
Thoughts of the coaches
Speaking about his opponent, the home coach stated that he “was wary of them”, as for Marcelino, Córdoba have players who “are very strong in attack”, which means that his players “but be very attentive in order to win”. His opposite number José Antonio Romero, stated that despite Córdoba’s difficulties, his side want to “recover the pride, professionalism and fan’s respect for the club”. “We are going to compete with dignity” stated the coach of the Andalusian side.
