LALIGA HYPERMOTION is entering the final stretch of the regular season. Matchday 41 will be played this weekend, with the unique feature that 10 matches will kick off on Sunday at 18:30 CET. Albacete BP and Racing Club Ferrol will open the matchday on Saturday at 18:30 CET — the only fixture scheduled for that day.
The fight for direct promotion is heating up. Levante UD can secure promotion to LALIGA EA SPORTS if they win their match at El Plantío against Burgos CF. Julián Calero’s men depend on themselves, and a win would seal the deal.
Meanwhile, CD Mirandés could also be promoted if they beat UD Almería at home in Anduva, although their fate depends on the results of Elche CF and Real Oviedo. Alessio Lisci’s side is currently second in the table with 71 points, the same as the team from Elche.
Elche CF will host Málaga CF at the Martínez Valero, in a game where the Andalusians already secured survival last week. Eder Sarabia’s side cannot secure direct promotion this matchday but will try to cut the gap with their rivals heading into Matchday 42.
Real Oviedo, who are two points behind CD Mirandés in the race for direct promotion, will travel to face CD Tenerife. The unbeaten run since the arrival of Veljko Paunović has allowed the carbayones to keep dreaming of a direct return to the top flight.
The battle for promotion playoff spots involves four teams. Real Racing Club could mathematically secure their spot if they beat CD Eldense. Meanwhile, UD Almería visit Anduva seeking a win — or even a draw — to secure a playoff place, as long as Granada CF don’t win. The Nazarí side, revitalized under Pacheta, are dreaming of the playoffs and must beat CD Castellón at home to keep their hopes alive. The other team still in the race is SD Huesca, who need to beat Cádiz CF away from home.
The fight to avoid relegation is down to two teams: Real Zaragoza and CD Eldense. The Zaragoza side currently occupies the safety spot with 48 points and will face RC Deportivo at La Romareda. If Gabi’s team wins, they will secure another season in LALIGA HYPERMOTION. On the other side, José Luis Oltra’s men must beat Real Racing Club to keep their survival hopes alive going into the final round.
Also on Sunday, we’ll enjoy Real Sporting vs FC Cartagena, as well as SD Eibar vs Córdoba CF.
