Julen Lopetegui will not continue as Real Madrid CF head coach. After their 5-1 loss in El Clasico on Sunday, the European champions formalised Lopetegui's dismissal with a statement on their official website.
The 52 year-old arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu in June as replacement to Zinedine Zidane. However, after four months in charge he has come to the end of his time in the Spanish capital.
On their website, Real Madrid thanked Lopetegui and his staff for their services and wished them the best for the future. Santiago Solari will take charge of the team on a temporary basis.
