LaLiga will support the Unleash the Roar! project, promoted by the government of Singapore with the special focus of fostering youth development in the country. Through its business unit LaLiga Grassroots, LaLiga will provide coaches in ten school academies, where they will implement the LaLiga methodology and philosophy.

"From LaLiga Grassroots we endeavour to utilise the experience gained in the more than 400 projects that have been rolled out since 2015, and offer training programmes tailored to the needs of young players in Singapore, adapted to and in accordance with the Singapore National Football Identity and curriculum. We are convinced that this initiative will mark a significant step forward for the development of grassroots football in the country," said Juan Florit, responsible for the technical and sporting aspects of LaLiga Grassroots.

The project, led by a taskforce comprising of SportSG and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) and supported by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth as well as the Ministry of Defence, has a long-term view to improve the standards of Singapore football across of levels, with a structured football development system to fuel dreams of young Singaporeans. For its part, LaLiga will play a supporting role in this plan and is taking its relations with the different institutions to a new level with the signing of an agreement that, in this preliminary phase, will last for two years.

"One of LaLiga's main objectives is to help the development of grassroots football in the countries where we work. We appreciate the trust placed in our expertise and experience by the local authorities and we are very confident that Unleash the Roar! will serve to bring our two countries closer together and successfully meet the objectives set," stated Iván Codina, LaLiga's director for Southeast Asia, Korea, Japan and Australia.

This agreement signals an important move forward in LaLiga’s strategy of internationalisation and support for local football in Asia, where it has offices in Singapore, China and India, and delegations in countries such as Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines and Malaysia, among others.
