SÁB 23.05.2015
Vallecas is the venue for the Liga BBVA matchday 38 clash between the Madrid and San Sebastian outfits. Depending on how the day’s action unfurls, a victory could see Rayo Vallecano finish the season in eighth place. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad, who already have 12th place wrapped up, will be looking to close out the campaign with a win after losing to Granada CF last week.
Team news
The home team will have to make do without Venezuelan international Nicolás Ladislao ‘Miku’ for this game, as well as Raúl Baena, Cristian Álvarez, Gaël Kakuta and Abdoulaye Ba, who are all carrying injuries. The Basques, meanwhile, will be travelling without Xabier Prieto or David Zurutuza, who will both be staying behind on the physio’s bench.
Views from the dugouts
The man at the helm of Rayo Vallecano, Paco Jémez, spoke about his side's desire to finish the season out on a high note: "We'll be going out to beat Real Sociedad and will try to move into eighth. That would be a fantastic end-of-season-position for us".
Elsewhere, the Real Sociedad boss, David Moyes, also held a pre-match press conference: "We weren't happy with our performance against Granada, so we'll be looking to rectify matters with a win and thereby finish the season out with a bang".
