Set pieces
The two goals of the first half came from set pieces. Valencia CF took the lead with a great goal from a direct free kick by Parejo in the 18th minutes. Athletic Club reacted and was Laporte who put the draw on the scoreboard with a header after a corner kick.
Jaume Domenech
Valencia´s goalkeeper was, once again, the star of Nuno´s side in the first 45 minutes. Jaume emerged as a key player, saving his team on all hazardous occasions created from Williams, Aduriz and Raúl García.
Balanced first half
Athletic began pushing and creating much danger from the wings, but its domain was not constant, since after the goal of Valencia was the "Che" side who took control of the match. But Valencia´s dominance did not last long either, and over the minutes chances were shared for both teams.
Athletic´s reaction
After the break, Ernesto Valverde´s team showed its best version. In the first minutes Athletic controlled the ball and turned it over to the scoreboard. Susaeta would be responsible for setting the second goal and Aduriz doubled the lead for the hosts.
Raúl García-Aduriz connection
The couple is emerging as one of the most dangerous of Liga BBVA. They get along perfectly, something that was shown on the pitch. Athletic's third goal came after a great move from both: perfect assist of Raul Garcia and Aduriz made the 3-1.
