Currently sat in ninth place in the Liga BBVA, Levante UD will be looking to continue its ascent up the league table, as well as record its second victory in the Estadio Ciutat de València this season. Until now the team has only managed to keep all three points on home soil against Espanyol (3-0).

Meanwhile, Villarreal has enjoyed a fantastic start to the campaign and will be fighting hard to hang onto its fourth place status, as well as add to the 24 points the team has already amassed.
Levante’s coach, Joaquín Caparrós, who is still without Miguel Pallardó in midfield, will also have to do without Héctor Rodas who dislocated his shoulder. Also unavailable for selection is Pedro López, due to suspension. The Seville-born coach spoke respectfully about his side’s upcoming opponents: "In front of us is a magnificent team, which works very well together. It is a club that is doing things very well".

The Villarreal coach, Marcelino García Toral, will have to contend with the injuries sustained by 'Chechu' Dorado and Francisco Javier Farinós, as well as the suspension handed out to Jaume Costa. “It will be a difficult match. They are a well-organised team and are very compact in defence which will require a lot of work from us if we are to beat them”, Marcelino said in his pre-match press conference.
