LALIGA opens a new dimension for football: an immersive experience fans can now enjoy

LALIGA is taking another step forward in the evolution of sports consumption with an innovative immersive reality project that is transforming the way football is experienced.

Following a pioneering first test during ELCLÁSICO, where more than 1,000 fans were able to experience this new way of enjoying a match, the organisation is now moving into a new phase in which media and fans have been able to try first-hand at the Movistar flagship store in Barcelona an experience that takes football into another dimension.

Through extended reality (XR) devices, users will be able to immerse themselves in some of the most iconic matches of the recent season — such as ELCLÁSICO, the Seville derby and the Basque derby — from completely unprecedented perspectives, with a sense of presence and closeness never before seen in football.

This project forms part of LALIGA’s strategic commitment to leading the transformation of fan engagement, exploring formats that connect with global audiences in a deeper, more emotional and interactive way.

To make this possible, LALIGA has developed a world-class technological ecosystem, featuring advanced capture systems and premium cameras such as Blackmagic, specifically adapted for virtual reality environments. All of this is supported by international production teams specialised in audiovisual innovation and immersive storytelling, guaranteeing a top-quality experience.

The first fans to enjoy the experience highlighted the level of immersion and the feeling of “being inside” the match as the key differentiating factors. This confirms the enormous potential of the format.

With this initiative, LALIGA positions itself at the forefront of international innovation, aligning itself with major global entertainment trends and consolidating its role as one of the most advanced sports properties in the exploration of new formats.

LALIGA will soon announce the launch of its application for extended reality (XR) devices, featuring content designed specifically for this new immersive environment, bringing fans ever closer to the possibility of experiencing a live match in this way.
