After the 1-1 draw against Perth Glory FC in the second and final match of the LFP World Challenge Tour of Australia, the Málaga CF manager and his players stated that the initiative was a great success.
Javi Gracia, the manager of the Andalusian side, did not want to focus too much on the result in nib Stadium. "The result is not the most important thing at this stage of the pre-season. This is a time during which we have to work and train hard in order for us to start the season as strongly as possible", stated the Pamplona native.
"Our overall assessment of the tour is positive. We played against two good teams and we will now return to Malaga to continue our pre-season work in the comfort of home", Gracia added.
Argentina’s Pablo Pérez also left Australia with positive feelings. "The team has shown that it has started pre-season well. I scored in the first match, I think that I’m improving bit by bit. I have really noticed the effects of the fitness work we have been doing".
Finally, Ricardo Horta, a new signing this summer and the scorer of Málaga’s only goal against Perth Glory, was happy with his own performance, but underlined that the team is the most important thing. "I’m really pleased and I hope to score more goals. I want to draw attention to the work of the team as a whole. This has been a great week. We have to keep working now to maintain this rhythm in order to start strongly in la Liga".
