RC Deportivo de La Coruña’s building project for the 2015/16 season has started at the foundations, with two additions who have arrived to strengthen the defence of the team managed by Víctor Sánchez del Amo. Fernando Navarro y Alejandro Arribas have committed to the Galician side, having arrived from Sevilla FC.
33 year-old Fernando Navarro has come to bring experience to the ‘deportivista’ back line, thanks to the 337 LaLiga appearances he has made up to now. Nurtured in the FC Barcelona youth system; as well as playing at the ‘azulgrana’ club the Catalan has been in the ranks of Real Mallorca and the Sevillian club. In fact, he has been at Sevilla FC for the last seven seasons, where he won the 2010 Copa del Rey and the last two Europa League titles. Also in his list of achievements can be found the European Championships won by Spain in Austria and Switzerland 2008.
He is accompanied on this new adventure by Arribas, after having played in the Sevillian ranks last season. The defender, from the Rayo Vallecano youth system, played one campaign at CA Osasuna before signing for the team from Sevilla’s Nervión District, and he’s already scored his first goal for the 'blanquiazules' in the friendly against Racing de Ferrol. This is how RC Deportivo have begun strengthening their defensive line before the beginning of the league, in which they hope to stay up and further establish themselves in la Liga BBVA.
