Chupe named LALIGA HYPERMOTION Player of the Month for March

Carlos Ruiz Rubio, known as Chupe, has been named LALIGA HYPERMOTION Player of the Month for March. This is the second time the striker has received the award, having earned it thanks to his outstanding performances during a month in which Juan Funes’s Málaga CF side secured two wins and a draw, with the striker scoring six goals.

Chupe started the month by scoring twice against Real Valladolid in the Malaguistas’ draw at La Rosaleda. The following matchday, Málaga CF played another home game against SD Huesca, and the striker scored a brace in stoppage time to secure victory for Funes’s men. Last week, Chupe scored another brace in Málaga CF’s victory over Cádiz CF to secure their second consecutive win and move up to fourth in the table with 54 points, just one point behind the automatic promotion places.

Chupe beat Andrés Martín (Real Racing Club) and Job Ochieng (Real Sociedad B) in the final vote to claim the trophy.
