The BBVA Prizes for December's best

The Liga de Fútbol Profesional's principal sponsor BBVA has announced the winners of manager and player of the month in Ligas BBVA and Adelante.

Those garlanded in Liga BBVA are Nuno Espírito Santo, manager of Valencia CF, and Luciano Vietto, of Villarreal CF. The Portuguese coach took the gong in September, and helped his Ché outfit remain undefeated with two wins and a draw, scoring five and conceding only once. Meanwhile the Argentine forward scored three times and was a shining light for the Yellows, who finished the month in sixth on 32 points.

Carlos Terrazas, coach of CD Mirandés, and Óscar González, of R. Valladolid CF, were chosen in Liga Adelante. The Basque boss has helped Mirandés dream again, recording two wins and a draw in December, which added to their good results in January sees the side fighting for a playoff spot. Meanwhile, the Salamanca-born midfielder has shone for Valladolid, scoring three times, helping the Pucelanos remain in promotion contention.

The panel are made up of footballing professionals who are experts in both Ligas BBVA and Adelante, and have no affiliation to any club in either of the leagues.
