TUE 30.09.2014

The Liga Adelante is back with more thrills than ever. Close matches, bags of goals, great players and hard-fought victories are seen on every matchday in the division, which is why the LFP.es editorial team have chosen the top eleven players from the last month of competition.

Keeper

Isaac Becerra has been chosen in this position. The Girona FC keeper is, for the second year in a row, the owner of the number one shirt in the Estadio Municipal de Montilivi. The shot-stopper from Barcelona has played every single minute with his team, letting in six goals. In addition, his side have had their best every start to the Liga Adelante and lie in sixth place with eleven points, two behind the leaders, UD Las Palmas.

Defence

The rear-guard for this Liga Adelante all-star eleven in September is made up of four players. David Simón has won his place thanks to his breakthrough into the UD Las Palmas defence. The Canary Island academy player has played in everything under Paco Herrera,  bringing pace, skills and penetration to his side. The centre of the backline is made up of Marc Valiente and Bernardo Espinosa, stalwarts of Real Valladolid CF and Real Sporting, respectively. The two centre-backs impose order on their two teams, sides that aspire to promotion to the Liga BBVA. Valladolid are in second place, behind Las Palmas, while the Asturian side is the only team undefeated in the competition, despite a very young side. Álex Grimaldo, FC Barcelona B’s left-back, completes the defence. A regular for Eusebio Sacristán, the player from Valencia found the net twice in September, helping his team to four points.

Midfield

Two young players, alongside a CA Osasuna veteran, make up our team's midfield. Iker Guarrotxena and Pablo Pérez, of CD Tenerife and Real Sporting de Gijón, respectively, have won their place in the team through sheer hard work. The former is the standout player for the Canary Islanders and in their local derby he proved that he can dictate a match with ease. Meanwhile, the latter is one of the new stars to come through the Mareo academy, winning his place in Abelardo Fernández’s team this year. Three goals in his first campaign with the first team have got him off to an exceptional start. Completing the trio is Roberto Torres, an icon at Osasuna, and the commander of the midfield in Navarre has helped his team out in attack with two goals in the 6-4 win over RCD Mallorca.

Up front

Forwards are there to score goals, and the three chosen by LFP.es get a lot of them for their respective teams. The surprise package of the start of the season has been Sergio Araujo. The Las Palmas forward had the best start in front of goal of any player for the Canary Island side in
