Official LFP statement

Regarding the statement made by the RFEF on its website, in which it is brought to light that today the decision was made to proceed with the issuance of the licence of football player Pedro León, this national league states: 

1.- That the issue of the abovementioned licence by the RFEF is not valid as article 7.1 of the Royal Decree of Federations states, verbatim, that “in order to participate in professional competitions, licences should be endorsed, prior to their definitive issuance, by the Liga Profesional”. Such prior endorsement was not made by the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional at any time. 

2.- In the absence of the aforementioned issue of prior approval, to which reference has been made above, assuming that Getafe C.F. SAD proceed to select player Pedro León in a competitive match, would result in the invalidity of said line up given the non-compliance of the aforementioned licence with the correct legal requisits.
