The Liga BBVA's early match on Sunday will be between Rayo Vallecano and Elche CF at the Estadio de Vallecas, kicking off at 12:00. The Madrid side, though a point ahead of their opponents, are motivated by the same objective: all three points. They've both managed draws in their opening matches, but will be looking to take the next step in what promises to be a pulsating matchday 3.

Lineups
The Madrid side have one glaring absence: Lass Bangoura. The winger from Guinea will not take part in Sunday's clash after featuring midweek for his country. They will also be missing defender Antonio Amaya, who has yet to recover from a thigh injury. The visiting franjiverdes, for their part, will have a full squad to choose from when they travel to Madrid to take on Paco Jémez's side.

View from the dugout
It promises to be a hard-fought encounter not just on the pitch, but between the rival dugouts too. The home side's coach, Paco Jémez, is clear about what aspects his team need to focus on: "We've got to show humility and intelligence. Intensity alone will win us nothing." Elche's coach, Fran Escribá, returns to a ground that holds good memories, as Vallecas was the first place where he managed a top-flight team. Before setting off for the encounter, the Valencian said: "Each team bears the mark of its manager. Rayo look to keep it organized, whereas our game is about balancing attack and defence".
