The five matchdays of footballing action served up by the Liga Adelante over the month of January have also offered up eleven players who have stood out from the rest and who, in the view of the LFP.es editorial team, have earned their places in the league’s ideal line-up.
Goalkeeper
Girona FC’s unbeaten record in the New Year is chiefly down to one man. Keeper Isaac Becerra, an academy graduate of Real Madrid CF and an experienced performer in the division, has created an impregnable wall for the opposition that has only been penetrated twice.
The defence
The backline is made up of two representatives of R. Sporting, one from Albacete B. and one from UD Las Palmas. A great first half to the season by their team, and this month’s good results, have played their part in Isma López and Bernardo fully meriting their spots in January’s all-star eleven.
Jorge Pulido’s reliability in defence for Albacete has made him one of the best central defenders in recent matchdays. Meanwhile, right-back David Simón has also shone. His speed, his ability to join in the attack and his experience are three major ingredients in Las Palmas’s top-of-the-table recipe.
The midfield
The middle of the park comprises three players whose boots are brimming with good football and passing ability. The youth of Dani Ceballos, a key element of returning Betis boss Pepe Mel's side, contrasts with the experience of Óscar González at Real Valladolid CF and Roque Mesa at Las Palmas.
The attack
Hard work and sacrifice go hand in hand with the sharp shooting and success of three men whose scoring efforts are reaping the rewards for their respective teams. Jorge Molina was to the fore in Betis’s recent wins against CE Sabadell (2-0) and CD Tenerife (3-1).
The same goes for one of the players to have appeared most frequently in the LFP.es ideal eleven. Sergio Araujo is enjoying a terrific season at Las Palmas and this month, with two goals against Real Zaragoza, he has excelled above the rest of his colleagues in attack.
